Demonstrations in Karachi

Hundreds of people took to streets and held protest demonstration in various Baloch-dominated localities of Karachi on second day against killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.
Enraged Baloch youth in various areas including Pak Colony, Mianwali colony, Lyari, Jamsheed Road, Mewa Shah, Jahanabad, Shershah, Lee Market, Ranchor Line, Rexser, Old Golimar and other Baloch-dominated areas burnt tyres and blocked vehicular traffic by putting obstacles on the roads.
They also pelted stones on vehicles and forced shopkeepers to close business and market in said areas. They raised slogans condemning the killing of Akbar Bugti and against the government.
The RCD Highway, which links Hub to Karachi, was also blocked with burning tyres and other obstacles. Huge contingents of police were deployed in these areas, which were trying to disperse protestors and control the situation. Police also fired teargas and baton-charged to disperse the protestors in some areas. A group of Baloch youth also forced to close the shops and markets in various areas of Gulshan Town including Shanti Nager, Dalmia, and Mujahid Colony.
