Favouring early resolution of Kashmir dispute, IoK opposition National Conference has appealed to India and Pakistan to address the long-standing problem without delay to "relieve" the people of Indian occupied Kashmir from unabated "sufferings".
"Key to everlasting peace in the subcontinent lies in resolution of Kashmir issue. It is not right to delay its solution as guns and explosives have wrecked havoc with the lives of the people of state," NC general secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad said addressing a meeting in Pulwama district.
He appealed leadership of India and Pakistan to address the issue, without further delay, in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir so that the unabated human rights violations and bloodshed could end.
The NC leader said the need of the hour was to resolve the Kashmir issue, which would also address prevailing uncertainty, economic distress and unemployment problems. Meanwhile, senior NC leader Sharief-Ud-Din Shariq briefed a visiting Canadian diplomat about the prevailing political, economic and appalling human rights situation in the state.
