The services of a total of 407 employees of the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat (Ombudsman) have been notified to be confirmed with immediate effect. According to the Notification/Office Orders issued by the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat here on Thursday.
The services of two Deputy Registrars; two Assistant Directors; two Superintendents; one Caretaker; sixty stenographers; one Machine Operator; one Key Punch Operator-cum Coder; eighteen Steno-typists; one Microfilming Assistant; thirty nine Assistants; four Telex Operators; one Key Punch Operator; sixty one Upper Division Clerks; one Receptionist; one Head Driver; one Calligraphist; five Telephone Operators; twenty three Lower Division Clerks; thirty seven Drivers; six Dispatch Riders; three Duplicating Machine Operators; ten Record Sorters; two Daftries; eight Qasids; eighty nine Naib Qasids; eleven Chowkidars; one Mali, two Farash and fourteen sweepers, have been confirmed.
The officials whose services have been confirmed, belonged to Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat head office in Islamabad and Regional Offices located at Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, Sukkur, Faisalabad and D.I.Khan.
It may be mentioned here that the Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman) Secretariat was established under President's Order No 1 of 1983 and all the above-mentioned employees were termed temporary and were apprehensive of the continuation of their services. Although some have been serving since 1984. The confirmation of their services has placed them at ease and comfort.
