FCS asks mole holders to pay Rs 90.5 million dues

The Fishermen's Co-operative Society (FCS) held a meeting here on Thursday regarding the society's outstanding dues of Rs 90.5 million against the mole-holders, said a press release.
The meeting, presided over by Vice Chairman of the Society, Haji Ali Mohammad, was informed that as many as six million rupees had been received in this regard after Fakir Mohammad Jadim Mangrio assumed the charge of the Society as chairman.
The FCS vice chairman urged the mole-holders to immediately clear the dues outstanding against them, as this amount was utilised for the maintenance and sanitation of market and harbour as per the standards set by European Union.
He added that the amount was also spent for the welfare of fishermen and if the payments were not made in time all workings would be affected. The Fishermen's Co-operative Society has formulated a committee headed by Government Director, Zamir Ahmed Advocate, which would submit a report within ten days in this regard. The report would recommend the procedures for receiving the dues, the statement added.-PR
