Partial strike observed in Rawalpindi

Partial strike was observed in various parts of the Rawalpindi city on the call given by united opposition to protest against the killing of Baloch nationalist leader and former chief minister of Balochistan Nawab Akbar Bugti.
The opposition parties Muttahida Majalis-e-Amal (MMA), ARD, Ponm and four Balochistan parties alliance had given the call of the countrywide strike on Friday.
City was under heavy security blanket from Thursday evening as huge contingents of police and paramilitary troops were deployed to meet any untoward incident. But no untoward incident was noticed till this time.
Murree Road was completely closed, as Friday is holiday for whole Murree Road from Marreer Chowk to Faizabad. But partial strike was seen in Raja Bazar, Saddar, Jinnah Road and other markets of the city. Traffic was normal and attendance in schools, banks and offices was little less than normal.
