Wheat futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were lower at midsession on Friday, consolidating after strong speculative advances over the previous two days, traders said. Traders were also positioning ahead of a long US holiday weekend. US markets will be closed on Monday for Labour Day.
As of 11:45 am CDT (1645 GMT), CBOT September wheat was down 3 cents at $4.01 per bushel, with most-active December down 2-1/2 at $4.19-3/4.
