RCCI election campaign gains momentum

The election campaign of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has gained momentum and Mian Pervaiz Aslam Group have started electioneering after filing nomination papers of their candidates for 11 Executive Committee seats of the chamber. Elections would be held on September 16.
Eleven executive committee members including five full members and six associate members would retire on September 30 and election on these 11 seats would complete the strength of 24-members executive committee.
According to election schedule Suhail Altaf, former FPCCI Vice Chairman was named as Returning Officer, Qazi Faizur Rehman and Zahoor Malik scrutinisers while Pervaiz Sadiq and Saqib Dawood would be polling officers.
Polling would be held on September 16 and results would be announced on the same day, while new Executive Committee would elect President, Senior Vice President and Vice President for next year on September 21.
The Annual General Meeting of the Chamber would be held on September 23. According to Memorandum and Article of Association of the Chamber 1/3rd of the Executive Committee members retire every year but due to mismanagement, no member of the executive committee retired last year. It is expected that this year 11 members would retire.
