The taxpayers would now be able to file their sales tax returns, electronically, through a new user-friendly computer programme. Sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday that the new version of e-filing has been successfully tested in Rawalpindi and it would be made public for maximum facilitation to the registered taxpayers.
The software, devised by the CBR Information Management System (IMS) Wing, could be used through any of the 'computer operating system'.
The taxpayers would be able to directly file the return through online facility without facing any difficulty.
The latest version of e-filing is duly accepted by all operating systems and there are no chances of rejection of sales tax return filed under the new programme.
Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) has started looking after the technical aspects of the new system to monitor the receiving of returns and subsequent distribution to the concerned collectorates of sales tax in future, sources added.
