Arrangement finalised to celebrate Defence Day in Sialkot

All necessary arrangements have been finalised for celebrating "Defence Day" of Pakistan with national spirit and usual enthusiasm in the city and other parts of Sialkot district on Wednesday.
The programmes would be started with special prayers for the solidarity, prosperity and unity of the country as well as for the early liberation of Indian held Kashmir in all mosques of the city.
Quran Khawani will also be held at various places for the martyrs (Shuhada) of September 1965 war. On this occasion various social, cultural organisations and educational institutions had finalised their colourful programmes for highlighting the significance of the day and pay rich tributes to the martyrs.
The Hilal-e-Istiqlal flag hoisting ceremony will be held under the auspices of Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (STMA) at Jinnah hall. In Chawinda, a special ceremony of flower wreath would be laid on the graves of heroes of the war.
On this occasion a special function in connection with defence day will be held at Sialkot Railway Station, where Railway Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad will unfurl Hilal-e-Istiqlal flag on top railway station. Later, the Railway Minister will inaugurate Sialkot-Lahore bound train service.
