MNA and a leader of PML-N, Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan, while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday said, "we have despatched our resignations from the parliament to Mian Nawaz Sharif while PPP legislators sent their resigns to Benazir Bhutto, now we are waiting for other opposition parties like MMA to handover these resignations to the Speaker collectively,"
He said that member of provincial assemblies would also resign very soon as the final round has begun. He said the days of the government were numbered and the opposition would soon launch a movement to oust the rulers. He said no changes would be accepted in the Hudood Ordinance, terming these changes against the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
He said the parliament was not competent to make any legislation against the principles of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. He further said the changes being made in the ordinance were repugnant to the provision of the Constitution.
He urged the government not to hamper the implementation of laws, as President General Pervez Musharraf wanted to amend the Hudood Ordinance prior to his departure for the United States to appease the US administration.
Rana said that the military operation in Balochistan was dangerous for the security of the country and appealed to the chief justice of the apex court to hold a judicial probe into the death of the late Akbar Bugti and to bring the facts before the nation. He claimed the PML-N was striving for ending dictatorship and the enforcement of an Islamic order and vowed to continue struggle till the real goals were achieved.
