Defence Day celebrated with traditional fervour

Defence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with traditional zeal and fervour. Army Air Defence Training Ground, Malir Cantt was the venue of great public interest where a grand display of arms and equipment was organised.
Corps Commander Lieutenant General Ahsan Azhar Hayat, who was the chief guest declared the display open and went around the stalls. The daylong celebrations of the Defence Day began with Quran Khwani for Shuhada in the unit mosques after Fajr prayers and for the solidarity of Pakistan. Floral wreaths were laid at Mazar-e-Quaid on behalf of the three services.
Thereafter, a Fauji Mela of arms and equipment was held at the Army Air Defence Training Ground, which include grand display of armaments and equipment and thrilling events. Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Rangers also participated in the Mela.
Open action of artillery guns, fire power, demonstration of Infantry, display of drones and Air Defence weapons systems, display of ammunition, models, anti-terrorist demonstration by Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) were some of the thrilling events of the Mela.
Latest missiles, tanks, artillery guns, weapons used by infantry, Army Aviation helicopters and armament under the use of engineers, electrical and mechanical corps, signals, army medical corps and army services corps were on display. Special arrangements were made to acquaint the public about these through briefing, video films on various aspects of military life.
Special durbars were also held in the Army units. Bara Khana was arranged for the troops. A get together of retired and serving officers was also held at Corps Officers Mess in the evening.
