Action against illegal CNG stations ordered

Controller of Buildings (Vigilance), Karachi Building Control Authority, Ateeq Baig, on Wednesday issued directive for action against the opening of a CNG station in FB Area in violation of legal requirements. He also directed sealing of another CNG station in Shah Faisal Town after its inspection.
He issued the directive while responding to public complaints at an open kutchery representing Chief Controller Mumtazur Rehman, who was busy with official engagements.
The people complained against demand of manifold higher amount by the builder as against the amount agreed at the time of booking of bungalow No R-306 and R-307 in A-One Homes, Sector-3, Surjani Town Scheme; non handing over possession of Flat No C-310 in project Jason Gulshan Gala, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block-11 despite making of full payment; demand for payment of illegal additional full amount for Flat No 12 in Shafi Excellency, Sector 5-1, North Karachi; demand for payment of additional amount by builders of project Yusuf Arcade, Block-L, North Nazimabad and threat for cancellation on non-payment.
The controller vigilance directed the concerned officials to seek explanations from concerned buildings on these complaints and take action as per building by-laws.
Complaints were also made regarding illegal constructions and modification of Bungalow No 7 in Hill Avenue, Plot No 167, Block 7-8, KMCHS. The controller was informed about a landslide incident here in 2002, which had caused big damages, whereafter the constructions responsible for this had been suspended but resumed again now. The COB called for immediate inspection and action in the matter.
Directives were also issued for action on complaints against dangerous illegal constructions on Plot No RI-3/10, Qasba Colony, UC-8, Site Town and illegal constructions on Plot No B-133 Block-2 Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Plot No SOL BI-103 Soldier Bazar, Plot No A-17, Sector 15-B, Buffer Zone, Plot No C-15, Block 11 FB Area and illegal 4-storeyed building in violation of approved plan on Plot No 673/1, Jamshed Town.
