A three-day anti-polio campaign will begin in Multan district from September 12 during which a total of 640,000 children up to 5 years age will be administered drops by 1427 mobile teams.
Multan District Co-ordination Officer (DCO), Iftikhar Babar has directed officials of health, education, social welfare, revenue departments, traffic police, nazims and NGOs to actively work for eradication of polio so as to save the younger generation.
EDO Health, Dr Fazal Mahmood Khan said that the affected child was given full doze of vitamin A to save him from polio. However, the parents of the children got him injected from a quake, which adversely affected nervous system of the child and they could not resist the polio.
Meanwhile, the DCO asked the mobile teams to discharge their functions with devotion and missionary spirit and not to show any negligence. He also urged the parents to extend their full co-operation to the mobile teams and to get their children administered anti-polio drops.
