Livestock Asia, Agriculture moot inaugurated

Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi, Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on Food and Agriculture inaugurated the second Food, Agri & Livestock Asia 2006 and the second International Agriculture Conference-IAC, at Karachi Expo Centre here on Friday.
Dr Khursheed Nizam, President, Ecommerce Gateway; Talat Ejaz Qureshi, Chairman, Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Board, foreign delegates from Sudan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, US and other countries were also present on the occasion.
After the inauguration, the chief guest visited the 2nd Food, Agri & Livestock Asia 2006 International Exhibition & met the foreign and domestic exhibitors along with Dr Khursheed Nizam, President, Ecommerce Gateway. The chief guest took keen interest in the products being displayed at the exhibition and interacted with the exhibitors in detail.
At the 2nd floor of Karachi Expo Center, the 2nd International Agriculture Conference-IAC 2006 was also inaugurated by Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi, which basically focused on "Vision 2015 & Challenges for Agriculture sector of Pakistan".
The conference aimed to become a platform where experts, policy makers, decision makers & major players from around the region in the trade agriculture products would discuss how successful systems can be applied to improve the agriculture productivity of Pakistan.
While talking to newsmen, the adviser said that "as Pakistan is an agriculture based country, this exhibition would be an ideal place to identify the emerging business opportunities in the agriculture sector of Pakistan".
"The foreign participants would be able to initiate future collaboration and joint ventures with the right partners to capitalise from the openings that are available in line with the government policies and incentives", he added.
The 2nd Food, Agri & Livestock Asia 2006 International Exhibition & Conference from 8-10 September, 2006 is being organised by Ecommerce Gateway Pvt Ltd & Jamal's Yellow Pages of Pakistan in support with Federal Ministry of Privatisation & Investment, Ministry of Food, Agriculture & Livestock, Engineering Development Board.
