The Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) has set up its liaison office in Pakistan with the aim to boost marketing of its products and encourage business opportunities between Pakistan and Qatar.
This was stated by QAPCO vice-chairman Engineer Hamad Rashid Al-Mohamadi while talking to newsmen after inaugurating the office here on Friday.
Consul-generals of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain were also present on the occasion.
He said QAPCO has so far acquired 70 percent market share in Pakistan by exporting petrochemical products worth $80 million. "We are directly supplying polyethylene, low-density polyethylene (LDP) to 50 industrial concerns and companies in Pakistan, including Engro Assahi Pakistan," Al-Mohamadi noted.
He said QAPCO's sister concern Qatar Vinyl Company was supplying 80,000 to 90,000 VCM to Engro. "Similarly, we are also exporting 20,000 LDP to Pakistan," he added.
