The Prime Minister of Egypt will inaugurate the annual Euromoney conference in Cairo on September 11 with the theme "Financing Egypt Growth." The conference will tackle a number of issues including increasing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy and advancing investment opportunities, says Egyptian Embassy here on Friday.
The conference will address issues of economic reform, developmental funding, information technology and development, capital market regulation and Egypt's growing role as an exporter of natural gas.
Egypt witnessed an increase of FDI which reached $6.1 billion during the last fiscal with investments in the field of petroleum and gas accounting for up to 30 percent of the total FDI, while privatisation comprises 15 percent and other productive sectors account for 55 percent of the total FDI inflows.
On the other hand, the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) will host its annual conference at Sharm El-Sheikh on November 17. The theme of the conference is 'Capacity Building of Investment Promotion Agencies and Investment Promotion Strategies in Africa and the Middle East.'
The conference will be attended by representatives of the different members of WAIPA as well as representatives from Unctad, Unido, OECD, IFC and a number of regional organisations and international donor agencies.
