Sudan rejects UN call for Darfur peacekeepers

Sudan "categorically" rejects a UN resolution calling for the deployment of UN peacekeepers in Darfur, President Omar al-Beshir said during a visit to Libya on Saturday, an AFP correspondent reported.
"I confirm the refusal clearly and categorically by Sudan of this unjust resolution," Beshir said during a speech in the city of Syrte, about 500 kilometres (310 miles) east of the Libyan capital.
