The chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Australian High Commissioner to India, John McCarthy, held a meeting in occupied Srinagar to discuss the overall situation in occupied Kashmir. The meet was held at the residence of the APHC chairman.
Mirwaiz Farooq apprised McCarthy about the growing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir being committed by the Indian occupation army. He told the High Commissioner that the APHC held many rounds of talks with Indian leadership with a view to help resolve occupied Kashmir dispute.
But, he expressed dismay that the India's rigid attitude and lack of sincerity marred efforts in this regard. The APHC chairman lauded the efforts made by Pakistani leadership to resolve Kashmir conflict and stressed the imperative need for India to reciprocate Pakistan's positive initiatives on occupied Kashmir.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed the hope that the international community would realise its due role to help end Indian state-terrorism in occupied Kashmir, leading to creation of a conducive atmosphere there to let Kashmiris decide their political future by themselves.
