Chairman All Pakistan Steel Re-Rollers Association, Ali Ahmad has appreciated the steps taken by the present government for the resolution of long standing problems of the steel millers community.
"We deeply appreciate continued positive approach exhibited by the government regarding the industrial sector's development," he said while addressing the Annual General Meeting of the association at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here on Saturday. Newly elected Vice Chairmen, Mian Murad Ashraf and Abdul Latif Chaudhary were also present on the occasion.
Ali Ahmad said that there had been a big increase in the demand for re-rolled steel products, ie steel reinforcing bars, T-iron over the last two years.
"The annual production capacity of country's steel re-rolling sector had crossed four million tonnes," he maintained. He said that the problems related to the availability of the raw material and electricity had been dogging the industry for quite a long period.
