Pesco floats safety plans for consumers

Keeping in view the increase in accidents in houses due to electrocution the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) Wednesday urged the people to adopt all precautionary measures for their safety in order to avoid electrical accidents and shocks.
The company has also requested the consumers to earth their electrical appliances and replace all worn out wires. The warned consumers not touch electrical appliances/cables with wet hands and ensure that children are kept away from these electrical appliances.
Similarly, Pesco urged housewives and other women indulged in housework to avoid use of metal wires for drying of clothes, properly check washing machines and immediately switch them off after use.
Pesco has requested all consumers to use some carpet or mate under their feet to avoid electric shocks while ironing clothes to avoid and electric shock and tape all damaged wires properly. They also warned consumers that electric repair in houses must be carried out by electrician only and said that over confidence is one of the basic causes of electric shocks. Pesco's technical staff is busy day/night to maintain the system and to ensure safety of consumers live and property.
