Need to train drivers

05 Oct, 2006

You don't need to drive carelessly and rash to get killed on a Karachi street. Someone else can do it for you. A particular case can be an example of carelessness of not only the drivers but their bosses also; a cab hit a couple's car killing them instantly.
It could be that the couple was also not following the traffic laws and not wearing seat belts etc, but the most unfortunate part is that we see these company cars, like cabs and staff transports etc, of different companies which are not only driven rashly but if one tries to speak to the driver he shows anger and his passenger supports him.
Not only the cab companies and buses under UTS need to look into he driving habits of their staff, but companies, both national and multinational, including some NGOs like Citizens Foundation, also need to train their drivers to behave like human beings on the roads.
