The provincial ombudsman has directed controller examination Punjab University (PU) to issue duplicate result card to a student as he had declined on the ground that duplicate result card should not be issued, except for immigration, job or study requirements.
The ombudsman passed these orders in a complaint filed by Raheela Hussain, a student who had appeared in B.A examination. The ombudsman observed that decision of the controller was not only in violation of rules but also there was no logic or justification for the same.
The complainant had lost her result card and approached for duplicate result card. She deposited the requisite fee but respondent refused to issue duplicate result card. She therefore, approached the ombudsman and got relief.
