Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that the PML government is implementing a welfare agenda of public uplift in the light of its manifesto and has honoured all the promises made with the people.
He further said that thumping success of the PML in the by-election in PP-157 is reflective of the popularity of PML in the masses and it has won this election on the basis of unity, discipline and hard work.
He was addressing a meeting of PML office-bearers, here on Friday. Provincial Minister for C&W Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din, Minister for Information Technology Abdul Aleem Khan, District Nazim Lahore Mian Amer Mehmood, Minister for Special Education, Qudsia Lodhi, President PML Lahore Mian Munir Ahmad, newly elected MPA Naveed Ashiq Dial and other elected representatives were present.
The CM maintained that the PML has become a strong political force due to its positive thinking and attitude and that is why it won the by-election in PP-157.
He said that N-League candidate had won from this constituency in the last general elections, therefore, it was considered a difficult seat. "However, by winning this election the PML has proved that it is the only political party which has roots in the masses. A strong Muslim League is the guarantee of a strong Pakistan and it created Pakistan, and is now playing a pivotal role in making it an Islamic and modern welfare state."
