USDA cotton export sales highlights for latest reporting week: Net Upland sales of 254,200 RB-a marketing-year high-were 34 percent above the previous week and 30 percent over the prior 4-week average.
The major buyers were Turkey (66,000 RB), Indonesia (57,200 RB), China (52,100 RB, including 8,800 RB switched from Hong Kong), Taiwan (14,800 RB), Thailand (9,800 RB), Colombia (9,700 RB), and Mexico (8,900 RB).
Exports of 104,700 RB were 38 percent above the week earlier and 47 percent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (23,400 RB), Turkey (18,400 RB), Mexico (18,100 RB), Indonesia (10,800 RB), and Thailand (8,500 RB).
Net American Pima sales of 20,200 RB were primarily for Japan (8,200 RB), Belgium (5,100 RB), and Thailand (1,700 RB). Exports of 1,400 RB were mainly to Indonesia (700 RB) and Pakistan (300 RB).
