Federal "B". Area Association of Trade and Industry has demanded Prime Minister's intervention in overcoming power crisis. Association Chairman Masroor Ahmed Alvi said the business community of Karachi was disturbed about long hours of suspension of power supply.
This had become a routine affair and the situation, instead of showing any improvement, was deteriorating with each passing day, he added. He regretted that nobody was taking any notice of those worsening conditions, even the present Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) management had shown interest in restoring to emergency measures.
Alvi said that inadequate input and week transmission system was responsible for the power crisis in the city and KESC had failed to replace and strengthen this week and outdated supply and distribution system.
He said the present KESC management had ignored the existing conditions and never bothered to take industrialists into confidence about their improvement and development plans, if any.
