Pakistan People's Party (human rights wing), Punjab, president Salim-ur-Rehman has alleged that Muzaffargarh police has uprooted its protest camps in Muzaffargarh and Kot Adu, which were set up to protest against the victimisation of District Nazim Abdul Qayyum Khan Jatoi.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he said that the police dispersed the PPP workers and did not let the press photographers to take photographs of the police action. However, protest camps in Shah Jamal, Jatoi and Alipur were not disturbed.
He vehemently condemned Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi for usurping the legal rights and powers of an elected district Nazim and freezing the funds. However, police denied these allegations and said that neither any protest camp was established in Muzaffargarh or Kot Adu nor any worker had reached the site to join the camp.
