The Punjab Health Foundation (PHF) has so far disbursed interest free loans worth Rs 361.861 million to doctors to set up their clinics in a view to supplementing the governmental efforts aimed at improving health sector.
Sources in the health department said here on Wednesday that the Punjab Government following directions of Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is taking various steps to promote, update and improve health sector so that people could get better health care facilities.
The government was extending self-employment opportunities to private doctors for which the PHF had simplified loan-obtaining procedure, the sources added.
