Reconstruction process to be completed on time: minister

Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Sayed Safwan Ullah has reiterated the government's resolve to complete the reconstruction and rehabilitation process in earthquake-hit areas of NWFP and Azad Kashmir in stipulated time-frame.
He said that reconstruction process had been launched with full pace under phased programme in the quake-hit zone. He was speaking to the convention of AJK Union of Journalists held in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. AJK Legislative Assembly Member Tahir Khokhar, other officials and members from various social and political quarters were also present on the occasion.
The Federal minister said that quake-affectees had been allowed to make the reconstruction of their shelter homes in line with the stipulated design approved by Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (Erra).
He asked the journalists to bring about all of their capabilities to give maximum coverage to the activities of reconstruction and rehabilitation process in the affected zone - so that the quake-hit people could restart their journey with a new determination and high spirit, he added.
He paid rich tribute to the brave and courageous role of journalists to raise the morale of the affected people in the quake-hit areas to face the aftermath of the devastated quake with full high spirit and determination.
He called upon the journalists to perform their professional duties to encourage and strengthen the reconstruction and rehabilitation process in the quake-hit areas by keeping a close watch on the rehabilitation programme.
