Endowment Fund Trust of the GC University Lahore has launched a fund raising campaign, which would be used to help the deserving students.
While addressing a function, the vice-chancellor GC University, Professor Dr Aftab Ahmad underlined the importance of the fund and said that foreign universities were progressing by leaps and bounds just because of their large endowment funds.
He added that the universities in the US, UK and other developed countries were providing scholarships to a large number of local and international students from their endowment funds.
He further said that the GCU had come a long way during the last four years, adding that Rs 450 million had been spent on development project in the GCU since 2002.
He said that development needed funds, so that GCU had established his own endowment fund to collect money for deserving students and the varsity's development. Highlighting alumni's role towards their mother institution, he urged the Ravians to contribute to maximum extent for the development of the university.
