City District Nazim Sheikh Faisal Mukhtar has directed the police to maintain peaceful atmosphere on Hazarat Ali's martyrdom day. Addressing a meeting here on Wednesday, he directed the police to make foolproof security arrangements in the city so that Hazrat Ali's martyrdom day could be celebrated in a peaceful manner.
He asked the police to keep a vigilant eye on antisocial elements so that they could not disturb peace in Multan district. He also asked the town nazims to remove encroachments' form the routes of the processions to be taken out by the people. Faisal Mukhtar directed the police to depute lady police officials all around the routes so as to provide protection and safety to the women participating in the processions.
He directed the TMO to ensure cleanliness and streetlights on the routes and disallow wanderers to sit on the footpaths. The district Nazim appealed to the members of the Shia sect to fully observe the sanctity of mosques during Isha and Taravih prayers.
DCO Iftikhar Babar, while addressing the meeting, said efforts would be made to make foolproof security arrangements and implementation of ban on the use of loudspeakers. Additional Superintendent of Police Fayyaz said police would remain vigilant on the activities of antisocial elements.
