The prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have been reduced from Rs 55 per kg to Rs 50 per kg due to increase in imports and drop in demand across the country.
The LPG marketing companies on Friday announced a reduction in prices to Rs 520-530 per 11.8 kg cylinder, from Rs 550-540, slashing the rate by about Rs 40 per cylinder.
The chairman of LPG Distributors Welfare Association, Hadi Khan, told Business Recorder that LPG demand in the country was currently looming between 1800 and 2000 tons per day and, due to heavy LPG imports, of about 3500 to 5000 tons per month, the prices were falling.
