A nine-member Parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain, on Saturday left for Geneva on a 5-day visit, to attend the 115th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The IPU Assembly is being held from October 15 to 20.
Approximately all IPU member countries will participate in the Assembly. Election of the President and Vice-President of the 115th Assembly, Co-operation between Parliaments and the United Nations in promoting the World Peace, particularly from the perspectives of the fight against terrorism and energy security and the role of parliaments in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) would top the agenda of the 115th Assembly of IPU.
