Pre-bid meeting for Services Hotel on October 16

15 Oct, 2006

The Privatisation Commission will hold a pre-bid meeting on Monday, October 16, 2006, to 'own and run' a five-star hotel on the prime land on Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam, Lahore, which is presently titled as 'Services International Hotel' (SIH).
The pre-bid meeting is being held to create better understanding of the process and to respond to the queries of the interested parties. The PC had invited Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in March 2006 and received nine EOIs from parties/groups. The area of the land is 15 kanals and 4 marlas.
The parties which submitted EOIs include Associated Group, Lahore; Bahria Town (Pvt) Ltd, Rawalpindi; Hashwani Hotels Ltd; Marwat Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd, Lahore; Regent Plaza, Karachi; SA Builders, Lahore; Tri Star Group, Islamabad; Noor Financial Investment Company, Kuwait; and the Consortium of Sapphire Textile Mills Limited, Lahore.
The available clear title of the land is in the name of Punjab Co-operatives Board for Liquidation (PCBL) to operate a hotel. The bidders for the land shall undertake to commence construction and operate a high-rise state-of-the-art five-star hotel in an agreed time frame.
