CDGK taking steps to check dengue spread

Steps to control Dengue and other dangerous viruses in the city were reviewed during a meeting held under the Chairmanship of City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal here on Sunday.
EDO Health Dr A.D. Sanjnani during the meeting presented a report of the steps initiated on the directive of the City Nazim in this regard. He informed that work on spray of germicides has been intensified and being performed at a rapid pace.
In this regard, 36 vehicles of City Government and one of each town administration are carrying out sprays in different parts of the city twice a day - before dawn and dusk.
He said spraying is also being carried out at schools, government buildings, hospitals and places of public gatherings.
On Sunday spraying was started at Sindh Secretariat and adjoining blocks, which will continue till the next day while at other government buildings it will be started on Monday.
EDO health informed that abundant spray materials have been provided to the towns while more will be made available after consumption of the previous supply.
He said 50 percent fees of all the lab tests and blood transfusion of patients who contracted dengue fever and other dangerous viruses will be borne by the City Government. Necessary directives in this regard have been issued and the patients will face no difficulty in getting the payments, he added.
The City Nazim directed to present a daily report in this regard.
