'Efforts on to modernise agriculture marketing'

The Punjab government is making efforts to reorganise the agri marketing system in the province on modern and scientific lines, to benefit all stakeholders including consumers.
This was observed by Punjab Agri Marketing Special Secretary Chaudhry Azhar, who is currently in Faisalabad. He visited several markets and discussed various issues with traders and commission agents.
He said the new agri projects would not only benefit farmers, but also help commission agents and traders to earn a reasonable profit, while looking after the interest of consumers. The provincial secretary also visited 'Sasta Bazaars' and inquired from purchasers about the prices of various commodities.
