Pemra awards first-ever Seraiki satellite TV licence

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Wednesday awarded satellite TV licence to Rohi Entertainment Company (Pvt) Limited to set up the first-ever international Seraiki information and entertainment TV channel.
Speaking on the occasion of awarding the licence, Chairman Pemra Iftikhar Rashid said it will be another promising addition to the private electronic media regime in Pakistan.
He termed it another milestone that Pemra has achieved in pursuant to its policy of offering wide variety and quality of channels to viewers in the country. With the addition of this licence, the number of Pakistani licensed satellite TV channels has grown to 18, out of which 14 have already started their operation. Rohi Entertainment Company (Pvt) Ltd would offer entertainment and information programmes in Seraiki language.
