LHC directs local government official to review Kasur budget

The Lahore High Court (LHC) while proceeding with the petition of district Nazim Kasur, has directed secretary local government to review the district council Kasur budget and submit a report on November 20.
Earlier budget book of district council Kasur was produced before the court and court took serious note of the statement of EDO (finance) who contended that they had not any printed any book in this regard.
The court asked him to explain his position but he failed to do so. The court ordered to take him into custody for making false statement. The court also announced to convict him for 15 days and also issued contempt notices to DCO Kasur and observed that both of them are responsible for creating fuss in Kasur district.
The court observed that the officials should not become tool for any government and they should act in accordance with the law. The court when asked the secretary local government about the statement of EDO, he submitted that he was not present in the court at that time and added that government has decided to review the budget of district council Kasur. He said the government will resolve the matter of district nazim Kasur. He also requested the court to forgive the DCO and EDO (Finance) Kasur. The court passed the orders accordingly and withdraw its previous orders passed against EDO and DCO Kasur and rose for the day.
District Nazim Kasur Rana Hayat had approached the court against the government for not providing funds for the schemes duly approved by the district council.
