The central leader of MMA and Maib Ameer, Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch has said the JI will finalise a strategy in its Supreme Council and Majlis-e-Shoora's meetings for launching country wide campaign in the light of situation arising after meeting between Mian Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto at London.
In a statement here on Friday, he said the JI Ameer, Qazi Hussain Ahmed was contacting MMA's leaders in the context of existing situation to seek consensus for en bloc resignations of legislators from the assemblies. Baloch said the rulers were blackmailing political parties by raising different issues a head of general elections and, therefore, the opposition should consider the situation carefully and understand their tactics thoroughly.
He opined the taking part into elections under the military dictatorship would be a blunder, hence, the MMA would prefer to use resignations' option more effectively after the Eid-ul-Fitr. The joint struggle of the opposition parties was only remedy to oust the rulers from power, he added.
