Violations of building laws

21 Oct, 2006

This is high time for the local authorities to monitor the violations in building regulations. It is a fact that builders, during the booking period, say that the building would be of international standard.
They claim that they would provide international facilities like camera surveillance, security on each floor, etc without any extra charges or additional costs.
I am also a victim of the building scam on I.I. Chundrigar Road. Unfortunately the builder demanded Rupees two lakh more for car parking. Most builders are found deceiving customers.
I have the same case. I bought an office premise a year ago. Surprisingly I was told that parking space would cost another Rs 2 lakhs for each car.
Even after paying these huge amounts one sees parking of motorcycles by the builders' office and guests' cars and their own office staff, parked in the corridors which is a clear violation. In my opinion the government should also establish authority to monitor building standards.
