Taxi, rickshaw drivers fleecing commuters

Taking advantage of extraordinary rush of people as well as following the way of transporters, rickshaw and taxi driver have fleecing the commuters travelling in different intercity routes.
Citizens here said they were forced to pay double fares as compared to normal routine fares. At some places desperate passengers were seen exchanging hot words with the drivers as they charged double fare from them. Masses had also expressed grave concern over the stubborn behaviours of taxi and rickshaw driver if some one tried to reduce the fares.
Citizens said taxi and rickshaw driver had been telling that only willing to pay fares according to their (taxi and rickshaw driver) would be allowed to board the taxi or rickshaw.
A FX taxi driver Badar Shukri told Online it was their right to increase the fares, as they had to pay "Eidi" to the traffic police deployed in every nook and corner of the city. Masses criticised the silence of the high-ups and demanded to take immediate action against taxi and rickshaw drivers.
