Ibad hails efforts for ensuring peaceful Eid

Sindh Governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, has congratulated the people, city government, police and Rangers, town administrations and other administrative authorities on ensuring peaceful and pleasant environment during Eid.
Steps taken under combined efforts and co-ordinated planning bore fruitful results in this regard, he said in a statement issued here on Thursday. "The atmosphere of peace and brotherhood at worship places during the holy month of Ramazan, Eid shopping, Eidul Fitr and continuation of work on fast track on development projects became possible with constant efforts and planning undertaken by the government," he pointed out.
The governor pointed out that continuation of policies and steps taken by the government during the last few years lead to better arrangements ensured on religious festivals and other events besides achieving a headway in containing terrorist activities. Proclaimed terrorist groups were apprehended and possible attempts of terrorism successfully foiled, he added.
Meanwhile, during his visit to shopping centres on the day before Eid and talking to people belonging to different walks of life on Eid day, the governor mingled with the citizens and exchanged views on various matters. He listened to their problems and issued on the spot directives for redressal of the same. Referring to Dengue virus, he said federal as well as provincial governments were paying particular attention towards the issue.
Dr Ibad said on his request the prime minister, without any delay, issued orders for exemption of duties on blood test kits used in the diagnosis process.
