Federal Ombudsman Javed Sadiq Malik on Saturday said that he would make all out efforts to improve the system of governance by suggesting remedies to deal with the ills existed in it.
Talking to newsmen, after taking oath of the office, he said the prime responsibility of the office of the Ombudsman is to redress the public complaints against the government departments, corporations and other functionaries but all endeavours would also be made to suggest remedies for their improvement.
Earlier, the President Pervez Musharraf administered the oath of office to the new Ombudsman, Federal Ministers, Ministers of State and senior government officials attended the ceremony.
Javed Sadiq Malik born in 1947 was serving as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister before his retirement from the service last week. He served the government for 36 years. He started his carrier from Balochistan. Later, he served as Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura and Commissioner Rawalpindi.
