Telephone companies, including Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) are these days competing with each other and are announcing reduction in their tariffs on various categories of calls.
PTCL, however, [in the current era of reduction in the tariff] has increased per minute charges on the calls emanating from its fixed telephony to the mobile phones from Rs 2.12 to Rs 2.50 effective September, 2006.
It will be recalled that these charges were reduced from Rs 2.80 to Rs 2.12 per minute in July,2005. PTCL should restore Rs 2.12 per minute charges if it is not possible to cut them down further.
My telephone 6318344 remained "dead" from 30th July, 2006 to 1st September,2006. Hence, there was no rationale in billing me Rs 240.00 for August,2006 on account of line rent /CLI charges and government taxes thereon. I had requested the concerned authorities to afford credit of that amount to me in September bill which has not been done. Will the authorities concerned do the needful now?
