Chaman Chamber protests against entries in FPCCI

03 Nov, 2006

The Chaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has strongly protested against the induction of outsiders in the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) through illegal means.
In a letter sent to Ministry of Commerce Secretary Engr. Daroo Khan, the CCCI President has pointed out that from the preliminary list issued by the FPCCI in connection with the election of managing committee members, nominations furnished by Gwadar Chamber had also been shown.
The record of MoC would reveal that there existed no office of Gwadar Chamber, nor any office-bearer has been elected through election in lawful manner. The nominations furnished by the so-called president, etc; are bogus and have no legal effect.
Daroo Khan further pointed out that one Riaz Arshad, who remained managing committee member of the FPCCI representing Sarhad Chamber in the past, had now been nominated by Gwadar Chamber for the reserved seat of managing committee. Riaz Arshad has neither any representation in Gwadar Chamber nor he is a businessman of Gwadar or member of Gwadar Chamber.
This, he said, clearly indicated that Gwadar Chamber was indulging in illegal and unlawful acts by inducting outsiders from other provinces in Gwadar Chamber.
The CCCI president requested the Commerce Secretary that all nominations furnished by Gwadar Chamber being void, unlawful and bogus might be de-listed and all such names dropped from the list and not be considered for election in any manner.
He suggested that appropriate action be taken against persons involved in recommending bogus people as members of Gwadar Chamber to save the business community of Balochistan from suffering at their hands.
