Timings of AIOU programmes to be enhanced

Acting Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Dr Muhammad Daud has said that after completion of Phase-3 of Educational Television, the timings of educational programme of the university would be enhanced.
Speaking to a delegation of the Pakistan Educational Television, headed by Masatoshi Director, Japan Telecommunication Engineering and Consulting Services, the acting Vice Chancellor said that the present timing for educational programmes of the university is 10:00am which is not suitable for the students.
He said that the AIOU would get the timing from Educational Television for broadcasting its programmes.
He said that the most essential reason for speedy progress in distance educational system around the world is utilisation of modern means of communication of the university.
He said that annual enrolment of the university is more than 0.7 million and the university offering admissions in more than one thousands programmes out of which in technical courses, we get help from the media and recently we have started providing educational facilities through net in all part of the country, initially, French languages and computer courses have been started through net, he added.
