'Domestic Wasa tariff soon'

Housing and urban development minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani has said domestic Wasa tariff would be introduced very soon as the case is under process and summary has been sent to the Punjab chief minister.
He was addressing the Amateur Paining Competition 2006 held at House of Children School where students from different schools also participated. All Pakistan Private Schools Welfare Association (APPSWA) president Syed Zulqarnain Shah presided over the event.
Syed Raza Ali Gillani said the Punjab government had taken initiatives from the day one and under the dynamic leadership of chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi decisions of free education and distribution of books were taken in the province.
He appreciated the holding of such art competitions in schools. He also lauded the role of private schools in enhancing the literacy rate in the society. He also offered all-out co-operation to private institutions especially to the APPSWA organisation on whose demand Wasa tariff has been changed.
Addressing the occasion, APPSWA president Syed Zulqarnain Shah highlighted the role of private schools and said these institutions were fully participating in extra-curricular activities. He thanked the minister for announcing domestic water tariffs for private schools. House of Children School chairman Tariq Manzoor said this competition would provide platform for promoting the hidden potential of the youth. Ayesha Rafique stood first in the painting competition while Irm Rafique, Sidra Khadim and Afaan Manzoor remained 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
