'Textile policy to deal with all problems'

Textile minister has said the National Textile policy is being formulated with an objective to provide short- and long-term solutions of the problems, confronting the textile industry in Pakistan.
The committee entrusted with the formulation of the policy will take care of all aspects of the problems confronting this sector and recommend ways for the betterment of the sector and boosting of textile exports. He was talking to newsmen at the annual general meeting of the All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA) at a local hotel.
He said a sub-committee on the textile policy was presently working on the short-term measures for the ongoing problems of the textile sector. The sub-committee will soon submit its recommendations to the government," the minister said.
On the possibility of reduction in the natural gas prices, he said gas prices had been linked to those of petroleum prices and added any reduction in the crude oil prices would definitely have an impact on gas prices.
