Authorities of Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (Erra) while declaring construction of 98 percent houses substandard in suburb villages of Muzaffarabad has stopped third instalment of compensation money to earthquake survivors.
The decision was taken following survey of Erra authorities of 10 villages situated in precincts of Kohala while issuing forms of third instalment of compensation money worth Rs 50,000 to only 10 earthquake victims.
It is merit mentioning that 88 percent earthquake survivors living in the said villages have completed construction of their houses according to map of Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority.
Following Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority decision, it is feared that more earthquake affectees could spend next winter season without proper residential facilities and more people could die. The tents, which were provided to earthquake affectees last year, are not in the condition to bear the coldness of coming winter season.
