Six of a family drown as boat capsizes

Six members of a family including three children were drowned when a boat capsized in Raino Canal near Sangarh on Saturday. Report reaching here said that residents of Wada Village were on their way to home after working in their fields of cotton in Malir Khan Shar village, some 40 kilometer off from Sangarh, in a boat, which overturned.
Three women and three children, Basira Khatoon 36, Rehman Khatoon 25, Liyada D/o Sharif Shar, Wibandi 14, Bhag Bari 7 and Sanoon Khatoon 20, were drowned. The sailor of the boat, rescued two children, Ali Khan Shar 5 and Sohrab Khan Shar 8. All the victims are told to be members of same family.
Soon after the accident, DPO Sangarh with heavy contingent of police reached at the accident site and started operation to fish out the bodies of the victims from the canal. When contacted DCO Sangarh told Online that divers of Irrigation Department were sent to the accident spot for fishing out the bodies.
Meanwhile, District Nazim Sangarh, Khuda Bux Rager has directed the officials to assists the victims and take out the bodies. He said that the probe would be initiated into the incident immediately.
