A three-day conference of representatives from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh will be held at Lucknow University starting November 6. "Time has come to erase memories of partition. The artificial boundaries that divide people of the sub-continent must go and there should be complete freedom of movement,' said Ram Kishore, convenor of conference organised by Bangladesh, India, Pakistan People's Forum.
It will see academicians and political activists from three countries coming together to encourage more people-to-people contacts. The forum had earlier organised a similar conference in Lucknow last year, followed by one in Murshidabad in West Bengal in July. It aims at seeking an early solution to various territorial among between three countries, guarantee of human rights, protection of people living in border areas, commitment to secularism by all three governments and a gradual evolution of a common armed force.
